Requirements
- Microsoft 365 with SharePoint Online. SharePoint Server on-premises is not supported.
- A current browser: Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Safari.
- SharePoint Administrator or Global Administrator permission to upload the package to the tenant app catalog.
- Site owner permission on the site where the attestation page will live.
Deploy the app
- Obtain the Policy & Attestation package (.sppkg) for version 1.0.0.49 or later.
- Open the SharePoint admin center, go to More features, open Apps, then App Catalog, and upload the package.
- Deploy the package so it is available to sites in the tenant. Approve Microsoft Graph Mail.Send only if you will send mail with Microsoft Graph.
- On the target site, create or edit a modern page, add a full-width section, and insert the Policy & Attestation web part.
- Publish the page. People open the app from that SharePoint URL.
Add it to Microsoft Teams
- After the SharePoint app is deployed, upload or sync
TeamsSPFxApp.zip. - Install Policy & Attestation as a personal app so each person can open My policies from Teams.
- Add it as a channel tab when a team should open the same SharePoint page together.
First-time setup
A site owner runs setup once. Setup creates the SharePoint lists and libraries the app uses for policies, assignments, acknowledgments, managers, teams, activity, and settings. Publish the page before setup. The wizard does not run while the page is in edit mode.
- Open the app as a site owner and complete setup when the app asks for it.
- Use a dedicated SharePoint subsite so policy files and acknowledgment receipts stay with this app.
- Optional demo data can be added during setup. Running setup again does not duplicate matching demo records.
- Wait until provisioning finishes, then reload the page.
Administrators publish policies and start assignments. Employees use My policies to acknowledge the published version.
Additional notes
Trial and subscription
Policy & Attestation includes a 14-day free trial. After the trial, the subscription is $499 per year for unlimited users on that SharePoint site.
A license key can also unlock the site. Policy files, signatures, and receipts remain in SharePoint on your site. The license check does not store those records.
