User & Administration Guide — Version 1.0.0.24

Guide summary

Sites is the inventory this account can open. A SharePoint Administrator role does not add sites this account cannot open.

On this page

Add sites

  • Add this site adds the SharePoint site where the app is installed.
  • Refresh sites you can open asks SharePoint for the sites this account can already see.
  • Import CSV takes https site URLs in this tenant. Other tenants, the admin center, and OneDrive hosts are rejected.
Site inventory
Each row shows status, inheritance, sharing, and whether you can read or also change that site.

Search the title or URL, and filter by status. Table, list, and card layouts are in the view controls, and you can choose which columns stay visible. Export from the same toolbar downloads the current view.

Site details

Open the title for site properties: title, URL, template, created and modified dates, language, welcome page, and identifiers. That panel is not a permission scan. View permissions opens the permissions page for the same site. The refresh icon inspects that row again.

Site details for a site in the inventory
Site details are properties of the web and its site collection.

Requiring access

A site marked Requiring access has an information button that explains the next step: add yourself as a site collection administrator, then inspect again. The app does not grant that right. Add that account in the SharePoint admin center or with SharePoint Online PowerShell.

Hierarchy

Hierarchy arranges the same inventory as site collections and their subsites, using each web’s immediate child webs. Open a name for the same site details panel. Expand all and Collapse all change the tree. The count of site collections is the collections in this inventory, not a map of the tenant. If SharePoint returns more sites than one pass kept, refresh again to continue.

Site hierarchy
The tree is the current inventory, arranged by parent web.
