Analytics counts the sites and direct assignments already loaded. It is not the Microsoft 365 audit log.

Analytics

Export CSV and Download PDF build the summary in the browser. Email opens your mail program with that summary. The app does not send the message.

Analytics counts
The counts are the current session, not a tenant audit log.

Four CSV files

Exports writes four CSV files in the browser:

  • Site inventory
  • Site direct assignments
  • List and library assignments
  • Operation results
Export actions
Each file is built in the browser from what this session has already read.

What an export is not

An incomplete scan stays in the file as rows or a labeled scope. The file is not a restorable backup, and the operation list is the in-memory session summary, not a tenant compliance log.

Lists on Sites, Permissions, and the other record pages can also export the current view as CSV or Excel from the toolbar.
